“In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.
Psalms 118:5 NLT
There Is a Devine connection between a cry, faith, and restoration! We can see that with the woman with the issue of blood. Pained with a plague that things would NEVER get better, she spent all that she had with doctors to receive some type of relief from 12 years of bleeding! It only became worse. “She had suffered a great deal from many doctors.” (Mark 5:26 NLT) Distress: great pain, anxiety, or sorrow; acute physical or mental suffering; affliction; trouble. Truly she found herself in a distress state.
She PRESSED in FAITH! Even though Jesus was headed to another encounter, she fought for HER moment! She fought for HER touch! She fought for HER wholeness and healing. I can imagine this crowd of people…they all wanted to SEE Jesus, but she was one that wanted to EXPERIENCE Him! And He knew that! Her touch and cry of desperation was different from those that surrounded Him! He literally felt the power leave from Him.
In these moments of racial tension, financial uncertainty, and illness; let our cry be in hope and faith that the Father hears us and restoration is near!
Often times it takes a situation of such for us to press into Jesus. Should it be that way, no…But I can appreciate those moments a little bit better with anticipation that the Father answers when His babies cry out to Him!
